Open championship Golf in St Andrews

The 134th Open Championship returns to the Old Course, St Andrews between 14-17 July 2005 (inclusive).

The return of the Open Championship to St Andrews in 2005 makes the Old Course the most frequently used course for the tournament. The 27 th time the great event has come to St Andrews, the Home of Golf.

The first time the open was played here was in 1873, the most recent, the Millennium Open, in 2000, showcased the superb victory of the great Tiger Woods, with a record 19-under-par score of 269 . The course has been slightly lengthened since Tiger’s great victory, with the creation of new championship tees.
